ESP32 controllers
Describe your hardware in the interface, AquasManager generates and flashes the firmware. The controller keeps working even without a server.
The server describes, the ESP executes
This is AquasManager’s core principle. You describe each controller in the interface: its pins, its relays (normally open or normally closed contact), its probes, its LED fixtures. AquasManager turns that into a complete ESPHome firmware, without writing a single line of YAML.
Critical automations (lighting curves, safeties, schedules) are stored on the controller. If the server restarts or fails, the aquarium keeps running.
Flash from the browser
Flashing starts from the interface, remotely over the network (OTA), and its progress is shown live. The first flash compiles the whole firmware; later ones are much faster. Only a new board first needs a basic ESPHome firmware over USB.
Expansion modules
Each controller can take modules: I/O expanders PCF8574 and PCF8575 to add more relays, and a battery-backed RTC clock (DS3231, DS1307, PCF8563, PCF85063) to keep time even without a network.
Probes and sensors
- Temperatures over 1-Wire (DS18B20): several probes on a single pin, with automatic address discovery from the form.
- Levels with float switches, debounced.
- Analog inputs for other sensors.
Each sensor’s history is kept and can be viewed as a chart.
Network discovery
Controllers on the local network are detected automatically (mDNS). Their status, online or not, is tracked in real time.
