Water parameters and ICP

In an aquarium’s Parameters (Paramètres) tab:

  • one reading: choose the parameter, the value and the date (today by default);
  • batch entry (Enter readings button, Saisir des relevés): after a testing session, enter all parameters at once.

A wrong reading can be corrected or deleted. Search finds a parameter by its symbol (NO3) or its full name (nitrate).

Each parameter has a target range, pre-filled with defaults suited to the water type and editable. Cards show:

  • the latest reading’s value, with a badge if it’s off target;
  • a mini chart with the target band in the background;
  • the trend of recent readings.

The off target filter shows only the parameters to watch.

From recent readings, AquasManager computes each parameter’s slope and estimates the date it will leave its target if the trend continues. A preventive alert can warn you: see Alerts.

On the Dashboard (Tableau de bord), the combined chart overlays several parameters:

  • period selection, extended up to today;
  • a stable colour per parameter;
  • markers on reading dates;
  • each parameter’s target band when one or two parameters are shown (beyond that, they would overlap);
  • a button to select or deselect everything;
  • a Logbook (Journal) button to show the logbook notes on the curve: a water change or a dose lines up with the change it explains.

On a parameter card (KH, calcium, magnesium, nitrate, phosphate, trace elements…), Dosing calculator (Calculer un dosage) gives the amount of product needed to reach your target:

  1. Check the measured value, the target and the real water volume (without rock or sand).
  2. Choose a product, or create one:
    • from the effect of a dose, as stated on the label (e.g. 20 mL in 100 L: +1 °dKH);
    • from the product concentration, handy for trace elements (e.g. 5 mg/mL of manganese), including a home-made solution; mg/L and µg/L are converted automatically;
    • or from a generic product with theoretical values (sodium bicarbonate, calcium chloride, pure trace element salts…). A product can have a brand and be linked to a stock item.
  3. Set the maximum rise per day: the dose is spread over several days so the parameter does not rise too quickly. Large amounts are shown in litres or kilos.

When applying the dose, you can create the tasks (one a day), take it from stock and write it to the logbook.

  1. In the Parameters tab, drop your lab’s PDF report.
  2. AquasManager extracts the values and presents them for review. Nothing is saved without your confirmation.
  3. Confirm: the readings are created and grouped into a dated ICP test.

The original PDF is kept with the test. You can compare two tests to follow how elements change.
