Rules and automations
Rules are managed in an aquarium’s Rules (Règles) tab. They are compiled into the controller’s firmware and apply even without a server.
Conditions
Section titled “Conditions”| Type | Example | Sensor |
|---|---|---|
| Threshold | Temperature > 27 °C |
Numeric (temperature probe) |
| State | Low float switch active | On/off (level) |
| Time window | Between 22:00 and 07:00 | None, RTC clock required |
Threshold operators are >, >=, < and <=. A time window can span midnight.
Several conditions are combined with AND (all true) or OR (at least one true).
Actions
Section titled “Actions”A rule turns one or more pieces of equipment on or off when its conditions are met.
Return to the previous state
Section titled “Return to the previous state”With the return to the previous state option, the equipment goes back to the state it was in when the condition ends. Example: turn off the flow during feeding, then restart it.
Safeties
Section titled “Safeties”Safety lock
Section titled “Safety lock”A rule marked as a safety lock prevents the equipment from being switched back on while the condition is active, even by hand. Example: cut the heater above 28 °C.
Maximum run time
Section titled “Maximum run time”The maximum run time limits how long a device can run continuously. It’s essential for an ATO: if the float switch sticks, the pump stops after the delay and a fault is raised. It must be acknowledged before the pump can restart.
Silent probe
Section titled “Silent probe”A probe that stops sending measurements triggers an alert instead of being ignored.
